Cleaning Laminate Flooring Guide

Laminate flooring is not only easy to install but also very easily maintained. The floors require moderate cleaning that can be done once a week depending on the traffic the floor experiences. Here is how to clean a laminate floor.

Sweep clean: Vacuum or brush to prevent grime or dirt, which causes the floor to discolor, from building up.

Damp and not wet: Use the floor cleaner that is recommended by the manufacturer, however, use moderate amounts.

No soaking: ensure all spills are cleaned up immediately. If any spills are left on a laminate floor they will cause it to swell resulting in the edges rising up. Ensure that you have installed a waterproof laminate floor in wet areas such as kitchens.

Protect: the floor from any damages and avoid dragging heavy furniture pieces. Pad the furniture feet with protector pads to reduce damage.

Cover-up using door mats so as to protect the floor from grime and grit that are vulnerable to additional heavy wear and tear.

High heels should not be put on: request your visitors to remove their heels prior to entering a room. The pressure from heels may cause indentations on timber flooring.

Minimize exposure to the sun: the wood flooring color is prone to change when exposed to sunlight. Do not place rugs on floor areas in front of windows.  Ensure that you have blinds that allow minimal direct sunlight into the room.know more information visit our website: www.aquastep.com.au
