4 Types of Floating Flooring

If you have heard about floating flooring, you may be wondering what it is. However floating flooring is a method of flooring installation. It is not a specific type of flooring material. This type of flooring involves the installation of flooring materials that do not need to be nailed or glued together. Most of the flooring materials used snap together easily without any help. This makes this type of flooring installation is easy and fast. It is almost like fitting together pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. There are several flooring materials that can be used successfully as floating floorboards.

1. Laminate flooring

This is usually made from laminated wood. It has low VOC and is therefore safe from homes. Sometimes, though not often, these can be glued to the substrate.

2. Vinyl flooring

This is considered expensive and elegant. It can be installed in two ways; gluing it to the sub floor or snapping the boards together.

3. Engineered flooring

These are made from wood. They are the newest and most famous form of floating flooring boards in the market. The boards can also be snapped together during installation.

4. Ceramic tiles

These are in almost every home. If not on the floor, then on the wall. Here, the tiles are joined to each other using plastic trays.
